It has a characteristic garnet red colour conferred by the long period in the barrel. The nose unfolds pleasantly, offering notes of prune, leather and cloves. On the palate there are smoky and balsamic hints and a remarkable structure with smooth but enveloping tannins. The typical hardness of Sangiovese has been rounded off by ageing, which has given it a surprising aromatic complexity and excellent balance. It is advisable to let it breathe for a long time after uncorking and to pair it with game, red meats and mature cheeses.
