THE ENVIROMENTS
Chianti
Classico: The words themselves recall unique landscapes, colours,
fragrances and sounds typical of the Tuscan lifestyle that has impressed
men and women from all over the world. The Chianti Classico countryside
is one of the most international and renowned places in the world.
The little village of Castelnuovo Berardenga is an important part
of the Chianti Classico area. In the tranquillity of the hills covered
with oaks and cypresses lie turreted castles, ancient churches and
monasteries, little village and farms. Here the perfume of the vines
and olive trees blend with the beauty of the landscape

On the western border of the township of Castelnuovo Berardenga
(also part of the western border of the Chianti Classico area) is
the extensive Tenuta of Monaciano. It lies on a 235-acre hill, 300
metres high, only seven kilometres away from the historic center of
Siena, in an optimal position for wine- and olive oil-production,
as well as for the cultivation of corn and sunflowers. Chianti Classico
wine and olive oil is produced in Monaciano |
| The proprietor’s villa, with a commanding view of the wonderful
Chianti countryside, is the heart of the estate. It is surrounded
by romantic and richly planted nineteenth century grounds of about
300 acres. Here visitors can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, walking
through tree-lined paths among statues, flower-beds, fountains and
grottos. The aviary, the peacock house, and the ancient lemon house,
frame a monumental greenhouse rich in a wide variety of exotic and
ornamental plants. The proprietor’s villa, now under restoration,
will offer guests elegant and charming holidays. |
