POGGIO e POGGINO
On the summit of the Tenuta of Monaciano, surrounded by vineyards and
olive groves, lie the old farmhouses of Poggio and Poggino. Here, clear
summer twilights are perfumed with lavender and rosemary, and violet-shadowed
autumn afternoons echo with the voices and sounds of the grape harvest.
Eyes and spirit resonate to the countryside where the beauty of nature
is in harmony with centuries of human patience and care.
Immersed in the vines and olive trees of the Chianti region, seven
kilometres from the historic centre of Siena, lies the Tenuta of Monaciano
and its two ancient farmhouses Poggio and Poggino.
The recent restoration has carefully maintained both the character and
the building materials of the original structures. The farmhouses are
flanked by a spacious area with beautiful views of the Chianti hills and
of the city of Siena. Here guests can enjoy the 7 X 15 mt. swimming
pool, with changing rooms and hot-water showers, and play ping-pong.
Apartments of different sizes make for a variety of living arrangements.
