Swimming in Monaciano

The estate has 2 swimming pools: one in Poggio, measuring 7 X 15 mt., and the other in Monacianello, mesauring 4.5 X 9 mt. Both are open during the summer months.

Surrounded by a brick floor and set in a panoramic but private position, the pools are fitted out with umbrellas, deck-chairs, and other facilities. In Poggio there are also changing rooms and hot-water showers. The pool at Poggio is at the disposal of Montalbano and Piturnella guests.

Biking in Monaciano

The guests of Monaciano can also rent a bicycle and go for a ride in the beautiful Chianti countryside. The main road of the estate is marked out by the Region together with other routes. Trail-marking signs have been put up on each track. Maps and guides for biking in Tuscany are sold in many bookshops and news-stands throughout Siena.

Riding in Monaciano

The “Agrifoglio” riding-ground of Staggia is fifteenth kilometres away from the estate. Here guests from Monaciano may take riding lessons or book excursions in the countryside. Reservations can be made for an expert guide to take guests for a ride through the countryside.

Shopping in Monaciano

The estate produces its own olive oil and wine, in particular: Chianti Classico, red and white wine of the central Tuscan hills, and Extra Virgin olive oil of the Chianti Classico area. Guests may purchase all of these products in the estate’s shop. In Ponte a Bozzone, a small village nearby, there is the butcher’s shop, a grocery shop, a bar and a restaurant. In Pianella there is another food shop open on Sunday morning. In Siena there are many supermarkets.
